Tailored Properties, Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of the Lake Christian Church in Palmyra, V.A. The church is one of the few monolithic dome church structures to be built in this part of the country exclusively by Tailored Properties, Inc. Nestled in the foothills Charlottesville, Virginia near some of Thomas Jefferson's many creations, the building is a unique combination of monolithic dome and conventional construction. The structure has a total of 16,000 +/- square feet.

While fairly new to this area, monolithic domes have been built in other regions of the country and around the world. Monolithic domes offer several advantages. They are more economical to build than standard conventional structures, often at two-thirds the cost. Savings increase as the size of the structures increase. They are ideal for schools, churches, arenas, etc. where large economical square footage is needed. In addition to the savings, monolithic domes are strong since they are built of concrete and steel. This makes these buildings good locations for shelters in extreme weather. They are resistant to fire and offer a tremendous saving on heating and cooling costs.
